The action, intrigue and heat in this story was so scorching hot and I loved it. So much so, that after days of no power because of Hurricane Irma, I would not put it down and sorry because it ended. Good thing I was able to keep my kindle charged thanks to a friend that had power.

This is a unique take on vampires and werewolves without being the typical cliched fight against one another. I was intrigued by the story and read through it quickly. There are a few editing mistakes but nothing that is too distracting (apparently there are scones on the wall instead of sconces) -). Over all well worth my time. Kudos to the author!!!
I love a good paranormal but seldom find one what is "different" then the rest. With Rapture at Midnight by Isobelle Cate, I did just that.
From the moment I started reading she had me intrigued and I couldn't put the book down till I was done, which happened to be at 230am this morning. BUT oh so worth it.
I love a strong female lead and Eirene Spence didn't disappoint. Her fight scenes when some of my favorite. She is one kick ass Bitch!
Finn Qualtrough was the perfect leading man and the heat that he and Eirene generated was smoking.
Isobelle did a wonderful job of giving me my HEA at the end of the Rapture at Midnight, while setting the stage for the next warrior, Roarke's story.
As I'm getting ready to start reading, Forever at Midnight, the second book, I find myself hoping to see more of Eirene and Finn as the war between the Cynn Cruor and the Scatha Cruor continues.
I found this book on bookbub and decided to take a chance and I am so glad that I did. It sucked me in from the very beginning. The characters came alive and it felt as if I was right there with them. I couldn't put it down and read until I fell asleep (book in hand). I finished it first thing the next morning and can't wait to read the next book. I would absolutely recommend this to any paranormal romance lover.
It started as a creative and unique idea and then took a nosedive with the repetitive brain chatter and detailed sex. Way too much of a good thing, turning it bad quickly. Personally, I skimmed most. When you've read one scene copied from an umpteen number of authors, you've read them all. Get some new stuff already. The focus should have mostly remained on the storyline and without the abrupt ending with the cliffhanger. Nope. Won't be reading this further.

I really enjoyed the bases of the book being on an age old feud between 2 supernatural beings. I thought how Finn and the others in his order are the result of an alchemist very intriguing and made me want to know more. I thought Finn and Eirene compliment each other very well and was just a bit disappointed with how many sex scenes there were in the book which detracted from the great story line and characters we are introduced to it is due to this that it is a 3.5 star and not 4 star or more review. This book definitely left me wanting to learn more about what will happen next as well as get to know the others in the order more so I can't wait to start book 2!

Finn has lived through a lot of things in his very, very, very long life. But the toughest challenge he faces may just be a tiny, tough, computer genius with a penchant for beating up bad guys!
As a Cynn Cruor Warrior he is a hybrid between werewolf and vampire. He is the supreme warrior but with a soft core, where he wants nothing more than to eliminate the threats to mankind and Eirene in particular. Eirene is not just a genius though. She is an actual doer of good, she practices what she preaches. She rescued her partner from the swirling vortex of grief he had succumbed to when his daughter was kidnapped by her mother.
This series is definitely something to be savoured, so make sure you set aside a good chunk of time for it. You will get sucked into the world. I still get a muddled with my Cynn, Scatha, Cruor and mortals but I'm getting there! Highly addictive.
