As punishment for his part in an attempted coup in Heaven, the Archangel Michael is banished to Earth. The holiest of the angelic host has to learn to live as a mortal, not an easy job when you’ve got Satan as a next-door neighbour. Michael soon finds that being a good person involves more than helping out at Sunday school and attending church coffee mornings. He has to find his purpose in life, deal with earthly temptations and solve a mystery involving some unusual monks and a jar of very dangerous jam. Sequel to the best-selling Clovenhoof, Heide Goody and Iain Grant have written a wild comedy that features spear-wielding cub scouts, accidental transvestites, King Arthur, a super-intelligent sheepdog, hallucinogenic snacks, evil peacocks, old ladies with biscuits, naked paintball, stolen tractors, clairvoyant computers, the Women’s Institute, and way too much alcohol.

Pigeonwings Clovenhoof Volume 2 Heide Goody Iain Grant Books

Better than the first book. This book was packed full of laugh-out-loud moments. I don't think I went 10 or 15 pages without laughing and sometimes laughing for 5 minutes. I really enjoyed the storyline and I'm very happy with this book, I will be ordering three and four now.....this was a surprise after how disjointed and slow book one was.

Pigeonwings Clovenhoof Volume 2 Heide Goody Iain Grant Books Reviews

While I knew this story was entertaining me with adolescent, bawdy humor I still had to put the down and have a belly laugh. With Jeremy (Satan) taking on the role of a good guy full of mischief and Michael (angel) encountering the failings of being human, it exposes many of our own beliefs that are ill founded. It basically pitches many of our religious views as human inventions to help us deal with the greater power we fail to understand. Despite many shortcomings of each character, Goody manages to find real good in each--even Satan.
The rollicking good times never come to a stop. This was one of the funniest books I've read this year. Clovenhoof was the other. I hope the series continues. It's difficult to write a review for a book like this because there are so many points to hit on. I'll just throw down all the words that come to mind thinking back on it because describing the plot is beyond me and giving me a fit of the giggles just to think of trying to attempt it. Hilarious, sweet, hard to put down, fast paced, a real rollercoaster of a read, insightful, plain old fun. Thanks to the authors for the great time I had reading this.
Another fun read in the Clovenhoof series. This one focuses mostly on Michael. It's very interesting to view the world through his eyes. I laughed out loud at some of his observations, especially those of the parishioners at St. Michael's Church. In comparing the two novels in the series, the difference between the way Michael and Clovenhoof adjust to life on earth is so striking, but definitely fitting to their characters. My only complaint is that there was too much bathroom humor. For an angel whose observed humanity since the beginning, I thought it odd how perplexed Michael was by basic bodily functions. Although it did lead to a few humorous incidents, it got to be a little much.
Along with the amusing vulgarity of some of the characters, and the amazing naivety of others, there is quite a bit of biblical exposition here. So, an education along with the hilarity! Liked this even more than Covenhoof..which was great too. If you're especially devout and lacking a sense of humor, this is NOT the book for you. I loved itπŸ˜„
I laughed out loud, over and over. This book is just so funny. Satan and Archangel Michael both have flats in the same prewar building in a suburb of Birmingham, UK. Jeremy Clovenhoof (aka Satan, the Morning Star, Lucifer, the Dark Lord) has been on earth a year and is an old hand at creating havoc while Michael is the new Saint on the block, but he adapts quickly, excluding his denial of bowel evacuation.

Michael develops are smartphone app that makes him rich, becomes a Cub Scout leader and tries to get God's forgiveness. The humans, Ben Kitchen and Nevrys, who live in the other 2 flats in the building try to remain sane while all is going crazy about them. Luckily they are both a little nuts as well. This book is fun, funny, heartwarming and adorable. I cannot wait for the next in the series.
Totally hilarious take on angels, both heroic and fallen, being required to live as humans. I was embarrassed reading this in public because of my frequent outbursts of cackling.

Archangel Michael has been cast out of heaven because of his participation in an attempted coup. He finds himself in a suburb of Birmingham, England, in a flat with Jeremy Clovenhoof (Satan) as one of his neighbors. His lack of understanding of his human form leads to a number of hilarious adventures, particularly when Jeremy tries to "help" his former nemesis. Throw in a highly secretive pair of monks, an overbearing female neighbor with an even more overbearing family, and Michael is guaranteed to have a hard time adjusting.

The humor continues throughout the book, and the amazing thing is that you find yourself grudgingly liking Jeremy, who is more mischievous than evil. All in all, this is a first-rate book of humor.
Please do yourself a favor and just buy all 3 of the books in this series. I am dead serious, I usually buy horror or thriller but I ran into the first book in this series "clovenhoof" it sounded funny so I thought " well let's try something new" omg I was laughing out loud and having my family strangley watching me lol half way through clovenhoof i hurriedly bought pigeon wings and the 3rd book of the series as well....because I HAD TO HAVE THEM before some unknown reason they might have disappeared on me from lol I truly LOVED this set and I NEVER buy book sets as I like to " keep moving" so to speak. However I could read this series for years to come if they only made enough books to follow clovenhoofs worldly mishaps . warning....don't read in public unless nu want people watching u laughing and trying to figure out whats wrong with lol....PLEASE add more to the series !!!
Better than the first book. This book was packed full of laugh-out-loud moments. I don't think I went 10 or 15 pages without laughing and sometimes laughing for 5 minutes.
